The sitcom telling the story behind the scenes of a hospital, which revealed Zach Braff, will be entitled to a reboot.
A classic sitcom soon to return to screens. The series Scrubswhich revealed Zach Braff in the early 2000s, will have the right to a reboot by its creator Bill Lawrence, reports this Thursday Variety.
The screenwriter is working with ABC and 20th Television on this new version of the hospital series, which told the adventures of the staff of the Sacré-Cœur hospital and in particular the intern JD (Zach Braff).
According to information from VarietyBill Lawrence will not be the showrunner of this reboot, if it is validated by the channel. The project is still embryonic and it is unknown if their ambition is to bring back the original actors.
Bill Lawrence, who also created the series Cougar Town (2009-2015) with Courteney Cox, is currently on the rise thanks to the success of Ted Lasso et Shrinking with Harrison Ford – both available on Apple TV+.

Last August, Bill Lawrence joked during an interview with Variety saying that he wanted to produce a reboot of Scrubs to “stop having to talk about the renewal of Ted Lasso“.
In October, Zach Braff assured that he was “completely” in agreement to star in a possible reboot of Scrubs. “The idea of replaying and laughing with my friends for 10 or 12 episodes, one or two seasons, it’s a dream,” he told Variety.
Broadcast between 2001 and 2010, Scrubs had been praised for its mixture of humor and emotion and its visual inventiveness which subsequently inspired How I Met Your Mother. The series received 17 Emmy Award nominations during its run.
