Whether you are a fan of rock, blues, electro, pop, reggae, French variety or metal, you will undoubtedly find what you are looking for among the vinyls, CDs, and even cassettes offered here. Every year, dozens of record stores, 80 for this new edition, from France but also Spain and Germany, meet at the Halle de la Trocardière for the Salon International du Disque.
On a space of 2400 m², with 500 linear meters of stands, more than 100,000 references are offered: vinyls, CDs, Blu-rays, DVDs, flexi-discs, picture-discs, but also books and collector’s items dedicated to artists. In short, enough to put your brain into overdrive… and lighten your wallet!
The undisputed star of the show since its return to the front of the turntables a few years ago, vinyl obviously remains the preferred medium for collectors and more broadly for lovers of warm sounds and vintage objects.
During the first half of 2024, according to the SNEP, the National Phonographic Publishing Union, vinyl records represented 10% of the total recorded music market and 50% of sales in physical media, surpassing, and this is a first, the CD.
-Like every year, the Show is also an opportunity to meet some thirty guests, specialist journalists, writers and artists.
The essential Philippe Manoeuvre, almost permanent guest of the event, will be accompanied this year by Stan Cuesta, journalist at Rock & Folk, Philippe Maindron, director of the Poupet Festival, Jean-Jacques Burnel, bassist of the group The Stranglers or even by Laurent Charliot, the Mr. Rock from Nantes.
Men, many men… but women are not forgotten, far from it, since Sunday is entirely dedicated to them with the arrival ofartists such as Mona Soyoc, singer of Kas Product, Sylvie Iggystoner of the group The ReptilesKlem H but also Michèle Ferrand, director of the B-Side Factory vinyl factory in Montaigu, Anne-Claire Galesne, press officer for Elmer Food Beat and a few others.
More information on the show here, a show which this year once again joins forces with Rockers have to heart by offering a collection point for toys.
