Alain, a former contestant on Amour est dans le pré, well known to viewers, was sentenced to ten months in prison, notably for undeclared work and animal abuse.

Alain, aka “Chouchou”, was one of the most emblematic candidates of the 2022 season of L’Amour est dans le Pré, a famous show hosted by Karine Le Marchand on M6.

But, at the end of May, he was no longer in front of the cameras, but before the criminal court of Moulins: he appeared on 28 charges. Among others, first, concealed work, since he did not declare the income of his son, who helped him on the farm, nor his own, nor his turnover.

“My cows are not skinny! And I love them!”

But also for deception on the merchandise and lack of hygiene. He is said to have sold on the markets products that had expired for several weeks, cheeses and poultry that were not refrigerated enough, with a risk of listeria.

“If there is a regulation, it is because there are health reasons! Think of the children who may be sick,” the president was indignant at the hearing, according to The mountain.

The court also accused the farmer of animal abuse: hens without coops, laying eggs in a car wreck, cows that don’t have enough to eat…

He defended himself: “My cows are not thin! And I love them!” His greatest fear was losing his animals. He will finally be able to keep them… but not his job as a breeder or a trader, since he was banned from doing so on Friday. He was sentenced to 10 months in prison. His lawyer spoke of very harsh treatment. On Tuesday, July 9, he was still considering appealing.
