The “Club Culture – place of artistic expression and party” system aims to identify among the places responding to the current name of “discotheque, dance floor” those which, through their activity of programming and broadcasting of concerts are a support for the artistic creation, production and distribution of DJ artists.
Objectives of the approach
This recognition delivered by the Minister responsible for Culture aims to recognize and encourage the commitment to artistic creation of establishments whose programming is mainly focused around a range of creative and new current Music intended to make the public dance.
This programming is broadcast by DJ artists performing live, whose promotion is at the heart of the venue’s communication.
This system aims to support and secure the development of a network of places of cultural and artistic interest.
This system highlights their essential role in artistic discovery, the emergence of new talents, as well as in the diversity of cultural practices and musical aesthetics throughout the territory.
What are the advantages that the “Club Culture – place of artistic expression and celebration” system provides?
The device provides the following advantages:
- Mention in the online directory on a dedicated page of the Ministry of Culture;
- Authorization to use the label and its logo on communication and signage media.

Applicant Eligibility Criteria
The establishment must cumulatively:
- Be an ERP accessible to all audiences;
- Pay particular attention to the prevention and reduction of risks in terms of VHSS, risks linked to narcotics and alcohol, and noise risks;
- Have integrated social and environmental concerns into the company’s CSR strategy;
- Engage and invest in the artistic and cultural field in a regular and significant manner, by offering for at least two years an effective artistic program that takes into account the issues of diversity and parity, including at least one year for which this program has is the subject of declarations to the CNM; by also promoting artists in development, during specific programming or through highlighting during shared programming; while also having equipment adapted to welcoming artists.
Procedure
File evaluation procedures
The files are examined by a working group chaired by the General Directorate of Artistic Creation. The “Club Culture – place of artistic expression and celebration” recognition is awarded by the Minister of Culture for a period of three years. Beneficiaries will be notified of the decision.
The criteria for awarding the label, the conditions for refusal or withdrawal of the label as well as the controls carried out by the ministry’s services will be specified in a circular currently being published.

- Deadline for submitting applications: January 31, 2025, 11:59 p.m. (Paris time). No file can be submitted or taken into account after this date.
