Chocolate, a real proof of gratitude

A survey carried out by Libeert among 1000 Belgians confirms that chocolate not only melts on the tongue, it also touches the heart. In fact, nearly seven out of ten Belgians (68.9%) who receive it at the office say they appreciate this attention. And for 80% of them, it is a sign of recognition from their employer.

And the bosses have understood this well: in 2023, nearly five out of ten Belgians (45.7%) have received chocolate offered by their employer. Not far behind, 30.7% of happy gourmands were spoiled by their partner, 27% by their parents… and 18.9% bought it themselves.

And those who don’t receive one?

Be careful, danger: for those who did not see the great Saint pass through the office last year, the frustration is palpable. More than half of them, or 55.6% of respondents, would like to receive a small gesture from their employer this December 6.

What is striking is that tradition has more weight among young people. Three quarters of those under 35 (75.5%) expect to receive chocolate, compared to 61.6% of 35-54 year olds. And if those over 55 seem less keen on it, almost four in ten (37.5%) still appreciate this sweet gesture. Conclusion ? Everyone loves chocolate but some love it just a little more than others.

So, if your boss is still hesitant to take the plunge, subtly slip this article onto his desk… The employees will be able to return the favor! And if you are wondering: at the DH, we receive them too!
