After the great success of “Passion Japon” at La Sucrière in Lyon, in the Confluence district, a new exhibition will take up residence within the famous cultural establishment.
For the first time in France, “Pompeii. Cité Immortelle”, created by the company Tempora, will be presented to the public. It will open its doors on Friday December 13, 2024.
Immerse yourself in the daily life of locals
It will be about traveling back in time and discovering life in Pompeii before the “disastrous day of the eruption of Vesuvius”, explains the event website.
The volcanic eruption that destroyed the Roman city of Pompeii in the year 79 was a tragedy for its inhabitants, but it offered us a precious opportunity: that of delving into the daily lives of these men and women, almost as if they were living still with us almost 2,000 years later.
Through more than 100 authentic objects from archaeological excavations, reconstructions of spectacular machines and projections of the city before its destruction, it will be possible to discover “the nature of the region but also the ingenuity of its people. »
Until the end of July 2025
The exhibition will be accessible until the end of July 2025 from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Mondays at the same times during school holidays and public holidays. Prices: from 12.90 to 18.90 euros. Free for children under 6 years old. 54 euros for a family pack.
