For more than thirty years, the actress has played roles in theater, cinema and television. If in the Tandem series Astrid Veillon leads a hectic commander’s life, in real life, she chose the peaceful town of Lourmarin, a small town in the Luberon, to settle down.

Far from the tumult of , Astrid Veillon chose to move to Lourmarin 15 years ago, in the heart of Provençal nature. Regional specialties, exceptional artisans, she makes us discover the favorites of her adopted region.

Early in the morning in winter, Pierre Jaubert and his dog Idol set off in search of black truffles. This taste nugget sells at a high price because of its rarity. Winter or summer, the truffle has different properties. Growing under green or white oaks, it feeds on organic matter present on the ground depending on the seasons.

In the Domaine les Conques Soulière, Pierre Jaubert has been growing truffles for 18 years.

Head to the Auberge de la Fenière, in the heart of the Luberon, to enjoy an exceptional dish with chef Nadia Sammut. Despite her intolerance to gluten, Nadia Sammut wanted to perpetuate the family tradition of La Fenière which was managed by her grandmother. She has also turned her illness into a strength by developing an “inclusive” cuisine that she describes as “free”. In addition to offering innovative recipes, the chef uses different cooking tools, such as a solar oven.


The La Fenière inn was founded in 1972 with Claudette Sammut, Nadia’s grandmother, who is now its chef.

The author lived for 2 years in a small house in the heart of Lourmarin, from 1958 to 1960, just before his tragic death in a car accident. If he had a particular attachment to Lourmarin, it was in particular because the village reminded him of his native Algeria. He had his habits, lunched at the Ollier café, but always in complete discretion, even if it meant adopting a pseudonym… Between confidences and anecdotes, his daughter, Catherine Camus who still lives in Lourmarin, shares the love that the author for the Luberon.

He really liked Tuscany and here, it’s quite Tuscany. He didn’t like Paris at all, neither did I.

Today, Albert Camus rests with his wife in the small cemetery of Lourmarin.

An emblematic place in the city, the Lourmarin castle was built in the Middle Ages. It now serves as an artistic residence. A meeting place and performance venue, painters like Thierry Marchal and Cristel Medan and musicians like saxophonist Guy Rebreyend meet here. A mixture of arts that provide real well-being, like the sound baths practiced by Sophie Drouin, bio-energetician, in .
