It is the characteristic of the great monuments of our heritage to remain, while men only pass through their walls. From the top of the Viré-en-Champagne castle, built on the top of a hill, not far from a thousand years of history gazing out at you. And the end is not for tomorrow. Soon, other pages will be written here, since one is about to be turned: Gilles and Sylvie Guichemer, owners for 27 years, have decided to sell.
A decision that was necessary. We have four children, and none can take over or buy back the shares of the other three
justifies Gilles Guichemer. There are only two of us left living in this castle. A big load. We can neither keep it nor transmit it, so we part with it. With a little tear in my eye.
A very legitimate feeling given that the Guichemer couple have made investments, and not only financial, to restore and maintain the centuries-old and imposing building. When you embark on such an adventure, and you are not the kings of oil, you have to get your hands dirty. This is what we did
underlines Gilles Guichemer.
