A young rapper from the Casselardit district will perform at the Zicozilo festival in Cartoucherie with his band from the Palace Club on Saturday, July 13. Presentation.

The 3rd edition of the Zicozilo festival is currently taking place until September 14 at the Cartoucherie in Toulouse. This participatory festival, open to all, offers an eclectic program all summer long: concerts, open-air screenings, drag parades, break dance shows, hip-hop, etc.

Fodil Kadri, aka Fodzzil, a young 19-year-old rapper from the neighboring district of Casselardit, will perform there with his band from the Palace Club, Saturday July 13. This geography student at the Mirail university, started music five years ago and has already released several singles available on streaming platforms.

Since he came of age, he has also participated in many open scenes. A new wave rapper, he is credited with “a classy and touching rap tinged with pop and feelings, cosmopolitan influences and hushed sounds”. Because for Fodzzil, rap is above all a way of singing to which new and varied sounds can be added.

“Deep emotions”

“I have a talent for voice and I take care of my lyrics. I try to convey deep emotions. I like gentleness,” he confides. He finds his inspiration in what he experiences, what surrounds him, and is centered on human relationships. For their second participation in the Zicozilo festival, Fodzzil and his band from the Palace Club will give their concert inside the large hall of the Cartoucherie.

“As a team, I’m more serene and this festival has given me a lot of self-confidence,” admits the young rapper for whom nothing replaces live performance. With his head in the clouds, he nevertheless keeps his feet on the ground and knows that it is difficult to make a name for himself. “I would like to, but that’s not the goal. The most important thing for me is to make music, share it and meet other musicians.”

Saturday, July 13 at 8 p.m., at the Halles de la Cartoucherie in Toulouse. Free entry.
