MaureenMontpellier candidate for the Star Academy, made an impression this week. With a poignant rendition of “Die on stage” by Dalida, she convinced her comrades, who immunized her for the Saturday bonus. As a bonus of this success, Maureen obtained her ticket for the 2025 tour.
Since she was little, she has dreamed of being on stage. His father, Jeff Valetremembers her first memorable gift: a microphone decorated with Cinderella. “I remember a music festival, she must have been five or six years old. She was on an open stage and didn’t want to give up the microphone. » A passion that has never wavered. This musical dream has already partially come true in the past. At 16, Maureen tried her luck at Nouvelle Star. This time, with the Star Academy, she seems ready to take a decisive step forward.

Preparations under pressure
A few days before entering the castle, Maureen spent a week in Palavas-les-Flots. Aware of the inevitable criticism, Jeff Valet had anticipated: “We gave ourselves instructions with my second daughter and my ex-wife not to look at social networks too much, to save ourselves a little. » Maureen, for her part, entrusted her social network codes to a friend. A strategy which, according to her father, allows her to avoid direct exposure to malicious comments: “When she returns, she will have fewer haters thanks to that. »
The rhythm at the castle is not like a long, quiet river. Between classes, rehearsals and bonuses, Maureen had to learn to manage her lifestyle. “The first weeks, she mismanaged her rest time and damaged her voice. It’s basically quite fragile at that level. » Over time, she found a balance: “She sleeps when she is sleepy, she manages to organize herself better. » This rigor requires sacrifices, but it is essential for an artistic future. “It’s an artist’s rhythm. They work nights and everyone is on deck at the weekend,” emphasizes his father, admiringly.
An evolution under close surveillance
Jeff Valet follows his daughter’s development with particular attention, although he admits to not being a big fan of the show: “It’s the reality TV aspect that bothered me a little, but I’m pleasantly surprised . They protect the candidates quite a bit. » This adventure is also a school of life. Maureen, impressed during her first bonus, quickly found her place: “On the phone, she told me that once the show launched, the fear was gone. She was in her element. »

For the Hérault resident, this experience is above all an opportunity: “It will open doors for him, give him an address book. » Aware of the hazards of the job, he gave her simple advice: stay herself, don’t create a buzz. Whether she loses or wins, “it has to be for the right reasons”. Family support does not weaken. Many uncles and aunts have taken out a subscription to follow his journey. Jeff Valet even paid for live access to see Maureen H24!
