It is a rich program that the organizers of the Bédéthon in Rambouillet (Yvelines) for this 2024 edition. A highly anticipated new edition after the last one which took place at La Lanterne in 2018. Traditionally organized every two years, the Bédéthon suffered from the health crisis.
Cultural and charitable
But the Bédéthon is coming back to us this year with more substance. It will take place at the National sheepfold Saturday, November 30 from 2 p.m., a place that allows families to enjoy the day and also the activities offered. “I created the Bédéthon in 2004. Then I organized it every two years,” explains Marc BourgneRambolitain and comic strip artist Michel Vaillant, in particular.
All the events offered during the day, and there are many, will help raise funds for the Telethon.
“It’s a comic festival for the benefit of the AFM Téléthon. Everything that is done is done on a voluntary basis to collect donations. »
The Rambolitan associative structure comes to lend a hand on logistical issues, in particular.
15 big names in comics signed
From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., 15 auteurs of comics will lend themselves to the game of dedication. A small piggy bank will be placed on everyone’s table to make a donation. “All the artists that Marc Bourgne has invited come voluntarily,” emphasizes Stéphane Clarion.
Comic strip lovers will be able to find Nicolas Barral which has just received the Quai des Bulles Grand Poster Prize in Saint-Malo in October. He is also the designer of the Bédéthon poster. François Duprat, Corentin Rouge and Laurent Libessart will be part of the gang, without forgetting Marc Bourgne of course.
From 6 p.m., another highlight is expected. Of the Original plates donated by authors will be priced. The auction will be hosted on a voluntary basis by the auctioneer, master Francis Faure, a faithful member of the Bédéthon since its creation. For those who are unable to travel, the auctions will also be available online via the Opale BD platform, partner of the event, which will not take a commission. Thus, all funds collected will be donated to the Telethon.
The last edition raised €8,000.
An event for all ages
New this year is the conference on the comics professions. From 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., four professionals will come and tell their stories and answer questions the public may have. Thus Benoit Mouchart, editorial director at Casterman, Jean-François Vivier, screenwriter, Claire Bigard, designer and Kevin Lecathelinais, bookseller at BD Flash will be present. The Rambolitan specialized bookstore is one of the partners of this new edition of the Bédéthon.
“This conference, in the amphitheater, is aimed at an audience of young people,” emphasizes Stéphane Clarion.
