Located in the heart of Montmartre, the “Chez Michou” cabaret was an emblematic Parisian institution. Founded in 1956 by Michel Catty, known as Michou, this place staged transformation shows combining glamour, humor and extravagance. Michou, with his flamboyant personality and his iconic blue glasses, created a space where artists could express themselves freely and from the early years, his cabaret was distinguished by its transvestite shows, where talented artists transformed themselves into icons of the French and international song, like Dalida, Edith Piaf, or even Brigitte Bardot to name a few. After more than 60 years of success, Michou's death in January 2020 marked the end of an era. Gad Elmaleh bought the premises and intends to revive it in his own way.
