Last minute. The National Games Authority (ANJ) issued a decision this Wednesday concerning the PMU regarding the racing calendar set up for 2025. The latter is approved subject to the historic operator implementing plans to reduce the excessive play. In broad terms, a large-scale study reveals a particular vulnerability of players (especially those aged 18-34) towards the PMU range and even more so at Super 4, Pick 5 and Trio. The new Max option in Quinté+ is also considered addictive. Moreover, while awaiting an assessment, the ANJ is asking for an abstention from commercial operations to “boost” the multiplier for the year 2025. Solutions to better regulate problematic gambling are also requested by the regulator on the PMU side.
