It is an address appreciated by the inhabitants of the Pyrénées-Orientales, but which is located just on the other side of the border. In Spain, the Voramar restaurant in Port Bou won the star of the Michelin guide this Tuesday, November 26. The Côte Vermeille establishment is rewarded for its haute cuisine.

A starred restaurant in Port Bou

A new exceptional restaurant to discover not far from Perpignan. After granting the star to four restaurants in the Pyrénées-Orientales, this year, the Michelin guide crowned an establishment in Port Bou, the neighboring town of Cerbère, Port-Vendres and Collioure.

Located by the sea, with a breathtaking view on the bay and beach of Port-Bou, Voramar has now established itself as one of the best restaurants in the region. “This family restaurant with attentive service has been renovated to offer an obvious gastronomic orientation,” describes the Michelin.

A “traditional cuisine revisited”

“Cooking, in the hands of young chefs Guillem Gavilan and Pau Jamas demonstrates enthusiasm, technicality and creativity, with a leitmotif around seasonal products and popular dishes which combine meat and fish/seafood”, detail the inspectors of the famous red guide, seduced by a “revisited traditional cuisine”.

This Tuesday evening, the Voramar team shared their joy on their social networks. The establishment speaks of “recognition of the effort, passion and dedication of our family, who work every day to offer a unique gastronomic experience.”

This dream come true would not have been possible without you, our customers, who gave us support and confidence in every dish. Thank you for being part of this adventure! This is just the beginning of a journey full of taste and emotion.

Unanimous opinions on Google

On Google, customers (including many French) are unanimous and provide rave reviews. “A wonder for the 5 senses! An explosion of flavors, colors and originality of presentation. Quality dishes, surprising, very well prepared, a delight. A unique and magical experience, nothing but happiness! “, we can read in particular.

“A great discovery with original and delicious cuisine. Impeccable service and a moment out of time”how another customer. It must be said that the photos of the dishes shared by the restaurant are mouth-watering, like this cream of chicken, a tribute to the chef’s grandmother, accompanied by corn, foie gras and sheep’s cheese:

In total, the 2025 Michelin guide awarded no less than 77 stars to restaurants in Catalonia, which stands out, once again, as the region most represented in Spanish gastronomy.
