On November 20, 2024, One Direction attended the funeral of one of their own, Liam Payne, in full force in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. The 31-year-old singer died after falling from a third-floor balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 16, 2024.
And a little over a month after the tragedy, we have just learned a terrible detail. It appears from the investigation that the hotel management could bebe involved.
Liam Payne tried to escape
According to our colleagues at TMZ, Liam Payne was trying to escape his hotel when he fell and killed himself. And this tragedy could perhaps not have happened, according to the American site. Indeed, still according to TMZ, the Casa Sur hotel, in which he had a suite, “knew he was threatening to use the balcony as a means of escape”.
And for good reason, Liam Payne, who hated confined places, tended to escape through the window as soon as he felt threatened and he could. On the day of his death, when he had made a scene in the hotel lobby, an employee had accompanied him to his room.
Unfortunately, at this point he made the mistake of leave Liam Payne unsupervised. And after interviewing witnesses, a police report, an emergency call, and surveillance video, it appears that staff knew that Liam Payne planned to escape through the window. But did nothing.

Not a suicide, but an accident?
His autopsy reveals that Liam Payne then suffered from “multiple trauma“and“internal and external bleeding“.
In addition, the singer responded positively to the “pink cocaine“. This drug mixture contains methamphetamine, ketamine and MDMA.
It is also known that there was crack cocaine and benzodiazepines in his blood. Liam Payne had also consumed alcohol and antidepressants before his death. So many products which complicated a little more his escape through the window already very perilous…
