Illustrator Bernadette Després, co-creator of Tom-Tom and Nanawill be buried on Wednesday November 27, in Loiret, where she had resided for 50 years, reports France Bleu Orléans. Her funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. near Pithiviers, at the church of Givraines, the village in which she lived. She will then be buried in Yèvre-le-Châtel a few kilometers away.
The designer of Tom-Tom and NanaBernadette Després, died Wednesday November 20 at the age of 83. His publishing house, Bayard Jeunesse, has already announced that a tribute would be paid to him “during the next Book and Youth Press Fair in Montreuil”in Seine-Saint-Denis.

This comic strip highlights the adventures of a brother and his little sister, who have always “brilliant ideas and lots of energy”. Very quickly, it achieved great success which has never faded, thus crossing generations. This will also be worth Bernadette Després to win “the Honorary Fauve of the Angoulême International Comics Festival in 2019 for all of his work”. The designer is also elevated to the rank of Knight of the Legion of Honor in 2021.
