How will the concert go this Friday evening, and your travels in the coming weeks?

“We have a big cavalcade there. We’re going to Switzerland, to the North… The concerts will be either with the orchestra like this evening (Friday June 28), or in showcase with the DJ and four dancers for an hour with a few songs. I also have something more intimate, in the theaters, which is called “tributes and desserts”. So there are no party songs.”

You have already been to Brittany. You will come to Bénodet in Finistère in August. How do you find the festival atmosphere here?

“I’m happy to be in Brittany since Vannes (56) is moving up to the first division. Here, it’s the rabine! And in the 80s, we were on the podium of Europe 1, we did all the towns on the coast: Trégastel, Ploudalmézeau (29)… In Brittany or elsewhere, it’s always the same. I’m here to make the audience sing, to write light songs. What surprises me enormously is that in addition to the audience of my generation, those who saw me on television, there are also kids who appreciate it. That’s great.”

How do you explain this success among young people?

“Because I don’t give a damn. Young people see a 70-year-old guy who doesn’t talk about it. My so-called “rough” songs are at parties, birthdays. Kids, that’s them breaks out and it makes me really happy. We’re here to make them forget their troubles, give them a little sunshine.”

After all these years of setting the mood, what motivates you to continue?

“Because if you stop, you’re dead. I don’t want to retire. There’s a play that I’m creating and a book that’s going to come out in November. I’m also going to create at near my house in the Lot (46): The Smallest Cabaret in the World I will do a transformist show, guys who dress up as Dalida, Céline Dion… We are in the process of building it. the projects I will continue the festive songs for two more years, as long as I physically hold on.”
