We often talk about Nass El Ghiwan, Lemchaheb, Jil Jilala, Siham, Tagadda… But there is another group about which we talk little, despite its immense merit, its hits continuing to resonate with all their force, with all their brilliance, in each Moroccan home or almost.

This is Mesnawa, formerly Oulad Mesnawa. 44 years after their birth, this group is still as inspiring, as loved and as respected. And it is certainly not this human tidal wave that they created, during an evening last Sunday in El Jadida, as part of the “Esprits Ghiwanis” festival, which will contradict us (see video below). against).

Thousands of fans, young and old, big and small, sang together with the group an anthology of songs of endless success, including the immortelles “Hammadi” (Hammadi), “The hunting season has begun” (The hunting Moussem has begun“…Two masterpieces which, with “هاينة” (Yes)عودي لزرق “, among others, bear the signature of the late lyricist Mohamed Batma, ex-pillar of Lemchaheb.

So many titles to glory for a group which, despite the wear and tear of time and the vagaries of life, continues to thrill us.

Good news for fans, a new album is being prepared, according to Abdel Fattah Derrazi, banjoist with golden fingers.
