A year ago, following the death of Karl Tremblay, we discovered the talent of American singer Jaclyn Lizzi.

While Quebec mourned the departure of the cultural monument that was the singer of Cowboys Fringants, we were intrigued and then delighted by the videos offered by the Texan musician on her YouTube channel.

His covers, in English, of Cowboys classics had helped us, in some way, to overcome our mourning by making us aware of the universality of the music of the Repentigny quartet.

On the occasion of the first anniversary of Tremblay’s death, Lizzi did it again by tackling a big piece, the piece that won the “Song of the Year” prize at the last ADISQ gala: Let fine you show.

In the English version by Jaclyn Lizzi, she becomes After The Show Ends.

In the comments under the YouTube video (the description of which also includes the lyrics translated into English), we can read messages from many Quebec admirers of the musician.

“I sincerely hope that Marie-Annick Lepine (his wife) and JP Pauzé (his best friend) will be able to listen to your version!”, mentions a YouTube user.

“Many thanks for promoting the work of the Cowboys beyond our borders. Come back and see us soon,” wrote another, referring to the fact that the 28-year-old artist traveled to Quebec last summer.

Unfortunately for Lizzi, back pain punctuated her stay with us, but she was nevertheless able to present a few small concerts.
