Counterfeit Taylor Swift notes: tens of thousands of dollars in alleged fraud | Taylor Swift in Canada

There are dozens of complaints about scams for tickets to Taylor Swift concerts in Toronto.

Halton Region Police say as of November 18, they have accumulated around 40 complaints for fake or non-existent tickets, which relate to the same seller. The estimated value of all of these scams is around $70,000 according to police.

The Toronto police report for their part in a - email that they count a total of 36 complaints about ticket scams for Thursday and Friday shows.

The artist performed on Thursday November 14, Friday 15 and Saturday November 16 and gives three other concerts from November 21 to 23, before concluding her tour in Vancouver.

York police respond that complaints take several days to be processed, but that to date, they are processing one file which appears to be linked to the Halton investigationand four others that are not.

Peel Region police, for their part, were unable to indicate a number of complaints specifically linked to the concerts. Taylor Swift.

But on November 15, she published a wanted notice concerning an individual suspected of multiple frauds concerning tickets for concerts and sporting events. The arrest warrant, issued two days earlier, targets a 37-year-old Torontonian. Investigators believe the victims of these incidents suffered a financial loss of more than $38,000.

Peel police have not specified whether tickets Taylor Swift are in question, but in its press release it specifies that Given the increased interest in concerts in the Greater Toronto Area this week, it is believed the suspect may still be actively looking for other victims.
