A true “magical place” where art is a passion shared by everyone, La Source Garouste de La Guéroulde (Breteuil, Eure) regularly welcomes artists in residence. These last three months have been Marta Panzacchi And Héloïse Roueautwo visual artists, who were able to benefit from an inspiring and relaxing setting, and the workshop space.

Thursday, June 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Marta and Héloïse will open the doors of their workshops to present to the public the research work carried out during this quarter of residency.

The two artists have carried out research in drawing, performance and installation, which they will present to the curious. This friendly time of exchange around contemporary art will be followed by a shared drink.

A project on the Divine Comedy

Originally from Milan, Marta moved to France, a few kilometers from here, after having lived in London and Majorca. His specialty is drawing on paper, with colored pencil or ballpoint pen.

During her stay in Normandy, the Italian made progress on her current project, linked to the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, famous poet and writer of the Middle Ages. His work represents the circles of hell imagined by Dante Alighieri.

Faces drawn on large format paper, each revealing an emotion and the color that corresponds to it.

Each color represents a sin, and therefore a circle of hell.

For example, red for anger.

Installation and performance

For her part, Héloïse practices a completely different art. Having the desire, particularly through her art, to reconnect with nature, the young artist could not have come at a better time.

Located in the heart of the Normandy countryside, La Source is a place that she describes as “magical”. For her, human well-being and nature are linked. “If we respected nature more, I’m sure our lives would be better.”

Héloïse uses installation and performance to express herself. The installation uses volumes in a space, it is a three-dimensional work in which the viewer can sometimes be integrated. Performance, for its part, is a difficult method to define.

“I use my body in actions, mainly linked to nature,” Héloïse explains to us. The latter uses video as a medium.

The final objective is to show these videos in projection or by integrating them into an installation

Héloïse Roueau

Art enthusiasts or simply curious, Marta and Héloïse will be delighted to present their project to you.
