The famous presenter Jean-Pierre Foucault, resident of Carry-le-Rouet, was present at the Marseille Auto Show, this Sunday, November 17 at Parc Chanot. Before meeting visitors to this event and taking part in a signing session, he answered questions from Provenceon his taste for cars.
Where does this passion for automobiles come from?
I started like many little boys, going vroom vroom on my father’s lap, pretending to drive. My father was a car enthusiast. As he left us very early, I never stopped making a collection based on the models he had. I now have a dozen cars near my home in Carry-le-Rouet. The sound, the smell, they remind me of my childhood and my adolescence.
“I learned to drive on a Citroën 2 CV”
Why does the car always thrill you?
Because it’s a memory machine. As I am known, people always say hello, hello to me. But when I drive my car, we wave at the car, we don’t see who the guy is behind the wheel. The car clings to memories that we have of each other. We say to ourselves, “Hey, it’s my father’s, my grandfather’s car“She exudes enormous sympathy.
