The attempt has been transformed and there is no doubt that the event will be a lasting part of the many festivities offered in Montcuq, throughout the year, by the various associations. This second music festival organized on Friday June 21 by the Association of Merchants and Artisans of Montcuq (Acam), in partnership with the Lézard de la rue association, fit perfectly into the spirit of this festive, popular, and completely free. Even the weather, which had agreed to allow a break between two showers, did not succeed in spoiling the evening.

From one end of the village to the other, all the music resonated, traditional, rock, pop, jazzy or classical. This ranged from Irish folk, piano songs, percussion and variety, to school children’s choirs and performances by the music school’s intergenerational ensemble.

Terraces, large tables: the village in unison

On eight stages, no fewer than fifteen concerts took place from late afternoon until late at night. From the Faubourg, where the Pastourels of the tower led the dance, passing through the Place de la République, the Place des Consuls and all along the Promenade, the public wandered and stopped in front of the different groups. The joyful troupe of Batufraka percussion drums engaged in a very sonorous stroll.

The whole village was in unison. The stores had opened their doors and the restaurant terraces were taken by storm. Large tables had been set up in the public space to enjoy the takeaway dishes offered by the restaurateurs, or to have a drink. A very successful evening, acclaimed by the many visitors, and which only asks to be repeated.
