VIDEO – After the collapse of the blades of the famous Parisian cabaret in April, new wings arrived to be reinstalled before an inauguration scheduled for July 5.

The Moulin Rouge will regain its luminous appearance before the Olympic Games. The wings, currently being finished, arrived this Monday morning. They will be installed one by one on the terrace during a carefully orchestrated operation. Each wing, made of steel and aluminum, weighs 110 kilos and retains its original aesthetic. The operation will nevertheless be kept secret behind a tarpaulin which will be removed with all the scaffolding on July 1st.

On the night of April 24 to 25, the emblematic blades of the cabaret located in Pigalle fell onto the public highway. THE “climatic conditions combined with possible dilapidation” caused this collapse, police said at the time.

The Parisian cabaret will offer a cancan for the passing of the Olympic flame on July 15. The Moulin Rouge will orchestrate a sound and light show with around twenty dancers who will perform a French Cancan in front of the establishment. Founded in 1889, the famous windmill on Boulevard de Clichy will celebrate its 135th anniversary, with its new wings, on October 6.
