He has been dead for almost seven years. And, yet, the list of his victims could grow longer. In a previously unreleased recording, revealed in the trailer for a documentary series called “Making Manson” which will be released on November 19, the killer Charles Manson evokes facts hitherto unknown to the justice system.

He explains that he lived in Mexico in the 1960s where he was involved “in a few murders”. “I went to Acapulco, I stole a few cars. I've just been involved in stuff that's beyond my control. (…) I left my 357 Magnum in Mexico, and I left a few dead on the beach,” he explains in a partially revealed telephone recording. “You see, there is a whole part of my life that no one knows,” he comments to his interlocutor.

The documentary, which will be released on the American streaming platform Peacock next week, compiles hours of recordings of calls made, from prison, by Charles Manson to a friend over two decades. The series is also based on the testimonies of former members of the “Manson Family”, the community he founded in the late 1960s in California. Several of the members were convicted of the murders – ordered by their guru – of seven people, including actress Sharon Tate.

“Making Manson” focuses on the life of the killer before he founded his Machiavellian cult, and notably returns to the crimes he committed (rapes, robberies, violation of his parole, etc.) in the 1960s. the documentary, followers of Charles Manson also explain their devotion, some ensuring that they did not know of his violent past before joining his community.
