Last September, in the artistic pieces workshop of the Christofle factory, in Yainville, in Seine-Maritime, the expert hands of the goldsmiths were busy completing on time the above all called “Ode to origins”, a flagship piece of the he exhibition “Christofle, a brilliant story” which begins today at the Museum of Decorative Arts (MAD). Designed by Jean-Pierre Cottet-Dubreuil – a young goldsmith who took over the Richard workshops in 3e district of – this contemporary creation, 4 meters long, in silver metal, mirror and rock crystal, composed of cups and candelabras, required a year and a half and thousands of hours of work.
