The small world of arts in the Chaume district, in Les Sables-d’Olonne, lost one of its figures: Jean-François Husson died on November 12, 2024 at the age of 86.
Very involved in the promotion of art, particularly contemporary art, he launched the Chaum’art association in 1998.
The association organized an exhibition each year at the Saint-Nicolas priory and the Gardes room.
Jean-François Husson was proud of having made the number of Chaume known throughout the world by exhibiting works by foreign artists.
Coming from a family of artists
Originally from Paris, from a family of artists, Jean-François Husson also gave drawing and painting lessons at the Amicale Laïque des Sables-d’Olonne.
His funeral will be celebrated on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at the Saint-Nicolas de la Chaume Church.
