This year, the tradition of windows of Galeries Lafayette Haussmann reached a historic milestone. For 130 years, they have embodied the spirit of the holidays in Paris and attract young and old to magical scenes and constantly renewed artistic creations. The department store, after celebrating its 130th anniversary in September, is extending the celebration with an exceptional Christmas. Kevin Germaniera leading figure in upcycled fashion, is responsible for imagining the costumes for the characters featured in the windows, always in a spirit of responsible creation. This commitment is part of a desire to combine tradition and modernity, while making Paris shine brightly.
The Swiss designer, known for his bold and glamorous approach, has imagined windows where every detail tells a story. Its costumes, made from recycled materials, will undoubtedly bring a unique and innovative touch to this anniversary Christmas. Germaniertrue to his style, loves bright colors and sparkling materials, while integrating surprising elements like a flying chimera that captures all the light. In addition to the windows, the essential element of the Galeries celebrations is obviously the Large Fir installed under the dome which delights visitors and photographers alike. For this 130th Christmas, we are told 20,000 light pointsa sound and light show and futuristic details inspired by Germanier’s vibrant creations. We’re going to have to take out our sunglasses, friends, because this tree promises us a fireworks visual at its peak.
