The doctor and writer was attacked this Tuesday in his office by a patient who uttered homophobic insults to him. A complaint has been filed.

Baptiste Beaulieu, doctor and author of Not all silences make the same noisewas attacked this Tuesday, November 12 by a patient, at his office located in . On Instagram, he announced he was filing a complaint.

“This is not the first time this has happened and sometimes I wonder why I continue to hurt myself trying to treat rabid people,” he wrote on the social network, recounting the attack he was a victim.

“This morning, a full waiting room (it was a public holiday yesterday…), a patient wants to pass in front of everyone without a valid medical reason, I tell him no (there are babies waiting). In short, he talks to me badly, I set my limits and he pulls the pin: he raised his hand on me,” the doctor begins.

“He stopped at the last moment. Then, he called me a dirty faggot and agonized with all kinds of insults, before threatening to come ‘a time when there would be no more patients in the hospital room. waiting to explain things between men,” says Baptiste Beaulieu.

The doctor, author of numerous radio columns and podcasts, explains that the patient who committed these acts had never posed a problem before. “What saddens me is to hear colleagues and sisters tell me similar facts. What saddens me is that social injustice generates social violence among the most vulnerable,” notes Baptiste Beaulieu.

“It’s getting harder and harder to believe in this profession and to find meaning in it. Basically, I do this profession because I love people,” concludes the Toulouse doctor on his Instagram publication which has more than 55,000 likes.
