While waiting for season 2 of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon”, fans of Norman Reedus can find the actor in “The Bikeriders”, currently in theaters, and in which the actor plays a biker with a particular look.

Seven years later Loving (2017), Jeff Nichols is back in theaters with his new film The Bikeriders, released in France this June 19. A beautiful and melancholy film which honors bikers in America at the end of the 1960s and the beginning of the 1970s. The opportunity for the filmmaker to evoke the evolution of the country and to navigate between the myth and the reality of these bikers (see our review). If the feature film is worth watching for what it says, it is also the case for its casting. We find there in particular Jodie Comer, Austin Butler, Tom Hardy and even Michael Shannon. But the most attentive will perhaps also recognize Norman Reedus in a secondary role, but nevertheless significant.
The actor, well known for his role as Daryl in The Walking Dead, here plays a biker who comes from California to join the Chicago Vandals. A not very elegant man, with rotten teeth, who hides his face behind big sunglasses, a beard and long hair. It is then amusing to see the other members of the club being initially fearful, even disgusted, in front of this curious character.
This outfit that makes Norman Reedus unrecognizable came from the actor’s collaboration with Jeff Nichols. The actor wanted put aside the image of Daryl of The Walking Dead which he has played for 14 years now. A role that really sticks to him. He wanted to appear totally different in The Bikeriderswhich allowed the filmmaker to make “a catch-all of all the craziest ideas“, as he explained to FilmsActu.

Norman Reedus also revealed to Comingsoon that by seeing the casting of The Bikeridershe thought most of the actors were really handsome and so wanted to go to an opposite direction. It was then on his own that he asked a member of the technical team of The Walking Dead to make him false teeth.
I had Greg Nicotero from the special effects team in France for The Walking Dead cut his teeth. I was going back and forth from Paris to Ohio trying to get used to my teeth. And that’s how it started.
Despite this desire to break his image, fans of The Walking Dead can rest assured, Norman Reedus is not done with Daryl. The actor continues to play the character with a spin-off series dedicated to him: The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. The first season was broadcast in France on Paramount+ from November 2023. A show which has the particularity of taking place on French territory and in particular in Paris. Given the success of season 1, the series was renewed for a season 2 which should debut on AMC in the United States from September 29. In France, Paramount+ subscribers will be able to discover the next episodes the next day.
