the essential
The 2024-2025 Astrada season was unveiled last Friday at Marciac, with, once again this season, honor given to the creations worn by women.

It was a little in advance that the program for the 2024-2025 season of Astrada de Marciac was unveiled last Friday in front of a curious public. The new season is also the last woven by its director Fanny Pagès before “sharing the baton”. This season once again, honor is given to creations worn by women: 36 shows, 11 offerings dedicated to young audiences, around fifty performances for all ages.

Among the highlights of the season are Souad Massi with his latest opus “Sequana”; 20 years of “Nø Førmat!” » with an extraordinary collective composed of Natascha Rogers, Piers Faccini, Lucas Santtana and Asynchrone (November 16); Marion Rampal with a repertoire dedicated to Abbey Lincoln (April 26); the Harlem Gospel Choir and its powerful tribute to Aretha Franklin (November 29); the Incandescent Orchestra of Sylvaine Hélary (1er FEBRUARY) ; flamenco singer Niño De Elche (April 12); BABX and Adrian Mondot with “Piano Piano”, a creation between song and visual arts (May 17); “The Dream,” an adaptation by Gwenaël Morin of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (December 7); or a play around Marguerite Duplessis directed by Emilie Monnet (January 25).

Partnerships

This season, L’Astrada is renewing its links with partner structures: Welcome in Tziganie with Dafné Kritharas in preview (March 15) and CIRCa with “Tapages”, by the Crida Compagny. Astrada is joining forces with the Spirale de Riscle association to present outside the walls the play “Radium Mania”, by the Toulouse company Ah! Destiny (March 22).

This season is also an opportunity to build with CIRCa, Le Parvis and Espaces Pluriels portraits of contemporary creators: the choreographer Pierre Rigal, who will be programmed at L’Astrada with “Erection” (1er March), and the director François Gremaud, scheduled at L’Astrada with “Phèdre” (April 5).

The traditional season opening weekend will take place from Thursday September 26 to Sunday September 29, between Marciac, Plaisance and Jû-Belloc. Performance, music and cabaret punctuate a triptych towards the southern countries and Martinique, with Charlotte Planchou, the choreographer Annabel Guérédrat with “I’m a bruja”, the Cameroonian performer Zora Snake and Julien Andujar.

This was the opportunity for Muriel Abadie, president of the public establishment for cultural cooperation (EPCC), to present Victoria Larrain, the new director, in office from next September. She also underlined the commitment of the team around Fanny Pagès, volunteers from the Les Amis de l’Astrada association, partners and the public, thanking them for their support.
