The next edition of Breaking waves is already looming. One of the biggest festivals in the South of knows the first artist of its 2025 programming (from Thursday June 26 to Sunday June 29). It is Matthew Chedid, alias “M”, who will perform on the Barcarès stage.

The French artist himself announced his presence in the Pyrénées-Orientales next summer. Matthieu Chedid unveiled his festival tour. Les Déferlantes will be his third date of the summer. “M” will sing on the Lydia side on Thursday June 26, 2025, during the inaugural evening of Les Déferlantes.

The famous interpreter of The Seine or even Which of us knows Les Déferlantes well, since the latter had already performed in concert in 2014 and 2019 in Argelès-sur-Mer, then in 2022, at the foot of the Aubiry castle in Céret. It is the first time, however, that he will go to Barcarès.

The essence of the programming des Déferlantes 2025 will be announced in a few weeks. Like every year, big names are expected by festival-goers.

New dates for Les Déferlantes

As a reminder, in 2025, the Les Déferlantes festival has decided to innovate. Historically scheduled around mid-July, the unmissable summer event in the Pyrénées-Orientales decided to change its datesto position itself on the last week of June.

If this modification caused some festival-goers to react, the organizers wanted stand out of the “concentration of major national festivals between the beginning and mid-July”, confided Fabrice Lorente, co-director of Frontera Production to News Perpignan.
