The magic of Christmas worked for the film The Christmas cyclone, the comedy derived from the popular TV series The eye of the storm rose to the top of the Quebec box office at the end of its first weekend in theaters.

Presented on around a hundred screens across the province, Alain Chicoine’s film starring Christine Beaulieu, Véronique Cloutier and Patrick Hivon collected $342,384 during its first three days in theaters, according to figures compiled by the Cineac agency.
It thus beat several major Hollywood productions such as Venom: The Last Dance et Conclave.
To compare with another Quebec Christmas film, let us point out that the romantic comedy December 23scripted by India Desjardins, had raised $250,745 during its first weekend in theaters, in November 2022.
Let us also mention that The Christmas cyclone ranks third among the best starts of the year for a Quebec film after 1995 from Ricardo Trogi (more than $700,000 in 5 days) and Our Sisters-in-Law by René Richard Cyr (more than $500,000 in 4 days).
