As part of the Alimenterre Festival, a national event on sustainable and inclusive food, the Association de Sauvegarde du Pays Fouesnantais (ASPF) is offering the screening of the documentary film “Until the End of the World” by Francesco De Augustinis, on Sunday November 17 at 3 p.m. in the Birds room at Espace Kerourgué. This documentary traces a journalistic investigation into the fish farming industry across three continents. Aquaculture is the fastest growing food industry in the world and promises to be a sustainable solution to feeding a growing global population. “The film, however, exposes a different reality: local communities in different regions are fighting against the expansion of fish farms, accused of polluting water, monopolizing natural resources and even promoting hunger and food insecurity,” says the association.
The ASPF will offer a debate at the end of the screening with Céline Diais (Association Pleine Mer), Abdou Kerim Sall (President of artisanal fishing in Senegal), and Breton fishing professionals.
