“We deeply regret this unfortunate error and are taking immediate steps to remedy it. Parents are advised that the erroneous and poorly printed website is not appropriate for children,” the company said in a statement published in numerous media outlets, including Variety.
“Consumers who already own the product are encouraged to discard the packaging or hide the link and can contact Mattel customer service for further information,” the company continues.
On social networks, many consumers decried the toy manufacturer’s blunder by posting photos of the packaging in question.
Mattel did not indicate how many dolls were affected by this error, but said that most of them were sold in the United States.
Starring Ariana Grande, the musical Wicked will be released in cinemas on November 22.
