Here is one of the new features of the meeting on November 16 and 17, renewed for four years, in the impressive galleries imagined by the Réthoré brothers: a conference or demonstrations at the end of the course after having wandered through the 900 m² of show dedicated to fifty exhibitors of this edition. The conference proposed by the former president of Barrobjectif will be the only one, strictly speaking, of the event.
Two thirds of artisans renewed
This talk will deal with one of his favorite subjects. “I’ve dealt with photography a lot, and I’ve probably gotten a little tired of it. In my early sixties, I wanted to go back to something more manual, without the computer or the new processes, to return to this era of the developer, to immerse something in a tank and obtain a more or less precise result. less random. »
This is what she rediscovered in the cyanotype, after receiving a trial box offered for Christmas two years ago. “I then experimented a lot even though it is very simple to practice and it is accessible for a 5-year-old child. » Obviously, the result will be more or less controlled, but trying it is not breaking the bank, according to her, since the little material required consists mainly of the purchase of two chemical solutions for “around thirty euros but this allows hundreds of cyanotypes to be produced. »
Cyanotype precisely for the cyan, blue side of the result, but for those whose chemistry is not the hobby, it is possible to do this technique with beet, spinach or turmeric juice. “We then speak of anthotypes”. She will explain all this and more on Saturday at 5 p.m.
Previously, at 11 a.m., a story reading will be offered to the youngest, and, at 3 p.m., a demonstration by lampshade maker Bénédicte Clergeau will be available to discover.
On Sunday, Lucie Freschard, Marlène Lani and Hélène Delisle will also take turns to show their arts, respectively wire sculpture, millinery and crochet. These activities are not the only new features of this edition, notably the renewal of two thirds of the artisans. “For a diversity of the offer and a greater qualitative requirement”, note the volunteers Pierrette Barraud, Émilie Cron and Armelle Prat.
