It is a traditional dedication event at which Michel Bussi was delivered, between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday November 6, 2024 at the Quai des Mots bookseller. Michel Bussi, born in Louviers (Eure), author of around twenty novels, three of which have been adapted into television series, but also a screenwriter, came to the meeting its readership on the occasion of the release of his latest thriller, The Assassins of Dawn (Presse de la Cité editions). This latest novel is located far from , the action taking place in Guadeloupe and starting with the discovery of three murdered tourists…

As stated Stéphane Lemaîtremanager of the Quai des Mots bookstore, “Michel gives us the pleasure every year, on the occasion of each new publication, to come and host a signing session and this since the release, in 2008, of his novel Die on the Seine ».

“The next novel will be released in more than a year”

The public responded, with 80 people at the meeting. Throughout the afternoon, a line pressed calmly in front of Michel Bussi’s office. Carole, a fan of the author, came with the latest novel and made a promise to herself: “Next year, I will do like the people in front of me, I will take all of Michel’s books to have them autographed. »

Indeed, Michel Bussi found himself at times with stacks of books to sign. But he engaged in this exercise with good humor, always finding a moment to exchange with his readers and willingly lending himself to selfie requests.

Between two signatures, Michel Bussi tells us about his current projects: “The next novel will be released in over a year. I also have a television series adapted from one of my novels which will be released in 2025 as well as a series based on an original screenplay. »

This event was also an opportunity to take stock of the situation of the Louviers bookstore. “We are suffering, like all independent bookstores, from competition linked to large platforms on the internet, from the general increase in costs but also from the loss of interest in city centers. Thanks to this type of event, we boost our turnover and introduce our offer to new potential customers,” confides Stéphane Lemaître.
