Chimène Badi also pointed out the mentality of the time. “We paid a lot of attention to the physical aspect and so I didn't expect all that. […] I had a lot of criticism regarding my figure, regarding my skin”she declared while putting things into perspective. “That’s how it is. It's definitely heartbreaking and there was a moment when I looked in the mirror I felt like I was absolutely filthy but I know I have a super beautiful heart.” Several years have passed since this difficult period for the singer, and after celebrating her 42nd birthday, she feels “in better shape than ever”. “I am completely in tune with myself. I feel much better at 42 than at 22.” And if according to her, the most important thing is to take care of yourself, she also admitted that she thrives in her life as a woman by being in love.

“Nothing is set in stone”

“I'm very lucky because I have an absolutely wonderful partner. Generous but in every sense of the word. And above all, it's a real shoulder. Nothing is set in stone,” she said five years later to Isabelle Ithuburu. “I don’t know what the future holds for me. I don't know how things will unfold in the years to come. But my opinion, which was so clear-cut as to make it into a song, is no longer necessarily so. And it gives me pleasure to tell you that.”

And her love story with her new companion is no stranger to this change of heart. “I think love can change a lot of things and the person you are with can make you see things differently. So, on to the next episode […] So, you should never say never. So yes I announced that I would never have children but no maybe not in the end”she quipped.
