3/3 pour Maestro River which therefore wins for the third time in as many attempts. For his debut at Vincennes, once again associated with Eric Raffin, this beautiful chestnut had to fight to the end to win in the Prix Géminus, the penultimate event of the meeting on Monday, November 4, 2024. At 2 years old , this resident of Sébastien Guarato therefore confirms his perfect debut and will now have to compete with the best of his generation this winter. “They are good foals, explains Sébastien Guarato. There were two or three good horses in this lot. He did indeed turn around, which is what I feared before the attack. He made a great acceleration to take the lead in front of the stands. Finally, the other (editor’s note, Mystic Sonato) pushed him but he got away well, he has a hell of an engine. We haven’t seen everything about it yet, because it’s not yet welded. But he stays at the trot, he doesn’t pull, and he moves without reins. Maybe we can dream about this winter with the semi-classics.”
Maestro River imposes itself in front Mystic Sonato et Memphis of Brasse and allows Eric Raffin to score his second success of the day on the Parisian track. “We did a relay with Yoann (editor’s note, Lebourgeois, driver of Money Cashfourth), specifies Eric Raffinand in the end, he repelled the attacks well. He did what he was asked to do. I knew that Sébastien was afraid of leaving, but at the canters, I felt that it was going to happen. He didn’t give me any problems. He’s going to have to toughen up while running, and he’s going to run with the good guys from now on. On the 2,700 meters of the big track, I don’t think there will be any problems.”
