Available on Amazon Prime, the “Cult” series, which looks back on the Loft Story phenomenon, is getting a lot of attention. Particularly among former loft owners, who are not really fans of the way certain characters appear on screen.
You decide
“11 singles cut off from the world, filmed in a 225 square meter loft, 24 hours a day, by 26 cameras and 50 microphones”. “Who will be the ideal couple? You decide”. If you were a teenager at the very beginning of the 2000s, this text necessarily reminds you of something, since it was read during the introductory credits of the show Loft Story. Whether we like it or not, Loft Story has left its mark on the French audiovisual landscape. On April 26, 2001, Loana, Jean-Edouard, Aziz, Kenza and seven others “airlifters” locked themselves in the most watched loft in France and gave birth to reality TV in France.
More than 20 years after his arrival, Loft Story returns to the forefront thanks to the series “Worship”. Comprising 6 episodes, this fiction inspired by real events looks back on the creation of the show which shone on M6, where young producers move heaven and earth to impose the “real tv”. However, former loft owners did not appreciate the way in which Alexia Laroche-Joubert (Isabelle de Rochechouart in the series) is represented.

“Much softer and cuter”
Premiere looks back at the few statements made by those who knew the producer of the show. “Alexia Laroche-Joubert is certainly not the character she wanted to leave in the image” explains Jean-Edouard, former candidate, before adding: “she’s a bit like the person who buys a labrador when it’s in fashion and who, the day it takes up too much space, abandons it in a motorway rest area but assures everyone that she is a donor to the SPA“. “The actress who plays her is much sweeter and cuter than the real Alexia” adds Kenza Braiga, also a veteran of the loft. “Given that Alexia oversaw some of the filming, it’s no wonder she toned down her image” we can read.
“I can be a bitch. But the reality is that (…) I think I’m neither an asshole nor a cynic. On the other hand, when I want something, I give myself the means” replied Alexia-Laroche Joubert on the set of Léa Salamé, as confirmed by Premiere. For its second season, Culte will put aside reality TV and focus on boy bands since it is the French group 2Be3 which will be the center of attention.
