The Star Academy show received a wave of criticism after encountering multiple technical problems during the prime this Saturday, November 2. The producer, Mathieu Vergne, decided to explain.

The Star Academy bonus on November 2 was marked by technical problems, notably affecting the performance of Pascal Obispo and Maureen.

Following this, the show received a wave of criticism from Internet users.

Mathieu Vergne, producer of the show, explained that the sound problems are mainly due to the management of the public's sound which disrupts the settings.

While the new season of Star Academy is in full swing, the prime this Saturday, November 2 was not unanimous among viewers. The reason? Many technical problems were noticed on set. Pascal Obispo and Maureen, for example, had to deal with an incident that delayed their performance as a duo.

Faced with all the criticism from Internet users, Mathieu Vergne, the producer of the show, decided to speak out. “Since 2001, people have talked to me about technical problems at the Star Ac’… Things have evolved enormously over the last 20 years, of course!” he begins by writing in a long message published on the social network X.

Mathieu Vergne: “the only problem…”

“The famous ears, for example, are enormous comfort for students, there was none before. This allows you to have the same sound as during rehearsals for each person and a personalized sound. This is the system used by everyone”, he explains.

He continues by pointing “the only problem” that they can meet during the live broadcasts: “public sound management”. In fact, the latter “goes through the students’ microphone”what comes “disrupt the adjustments made during rehearsals, without an audience”. “This is what apparently happened to Charles and Noah who did not hear the note that allowed them to go a cappella and the countdown which allowed them to leave together”, he adds to his explanations.

Mathieu Vergne discusses the complexity of bonuses

Unfortunately, we are never safe from the unexpected. “These are things that happen in all live shows where singers sing live (which is increasingly rare). Believe me, all the technicians who work on the Star Academy are the best in to manage a live performance where each title is repeated in 45 minutes/1 hour max“, continues the producer.

Concerning “listening problems among viewers”Mathieu Vergne also made an update. “The level of the voices in relation to the music, etc… Please note that the mix that leaves us is very well balanced, again, by great professionals“. He concludes: “Designate a representative and we show him behind the scenes to better understand the complexity of everything that is done every Saturday!“.
