The postcards are grouped in a box, priced at 10 euros, with a biographical booklet of the illustrators: there are 14 of them who responded to the call from the Cercle cartophile du pays de Montbéliard, and its president Denis Colin, inviting them to imagine the car of the future.

These creatives, masters in the art of pencil or brush strokes, are expected at the Peugeot Adventure Museum on November 2 and 3 to host the 2e edition of the Salon des illustrators stamped “Pays de Montbéliard Agglomeration French capital of culture 2024”. The 1re edition was held in October 2020 with more than 1,000 visitors.

Poetry, humor, catastrophism…

Gilbert Bachelu, known as GB Ritre, imagined a vehicle on an air cushion with, under the hood, “an electrogenerating electric turbine”. For Viviane Barbier, the car of the future will go everywhere: it will drive, sail (with a kitesurfing wing) and fly (with bat wings). Alain Barré’s drawing combines poetry and humor with a shoe-shaped machine. The caption he chose sums it all up: “All out. »

Jean-Louis Bazin’s vision is intended to be “humoristico-catastrophic”. After the ban, under pressure from environmentalists, on thermal engines, which were too polluting, and on electric motors, powered by nuclear energy, after the ban on hydrogen engines considered too dangerous, he imagined an individual automobile which advances thanks to animal energy.

Philatelic stamp

The other illustrators are Christelle Duvernois, Florence Guth, Patrick Hamm, Anne Mettetal, known as Croc en Bloc, Jocelyne Moine, David Norocos, Jean-Paul Perrodin, known as Piro, Jean-Luc Racenet, David Tripard, known as Trap’, and Jean-Marc Wassmer, known as Ergon.

The organizers of the Show have provided a philatelic stamp for postage on postcards, letters and other souvenirs.

Free entry to the fair, not to the museum

Free, access to the event will be from the side of the museum, near the brewery, and not through the main entrance. It will not allow circulation in the museum’s exhibition spaces.

At the same time, the Cercle cartophile du pays de Montbéliard will exhibit postcards illustrating the 73 municipalities of Pays de Montbéliard Agglomération (PMA).

Illustrators’ Fair, Saturday November 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Peugeot Adventure Museum in Sochaux. Free.
