The 2024 vintage of Cirque Knee began Friday evening in Geneva. This year, the actor and illusionist from Vaud Pierric Tenthorey accompanies the troupe and its acrobats. Radio Lac was immersed behind the scenes.

“Coming back to Geneva also means seeing friends that I only see once a year,” says Ivan Knie, inherited from the dynasty that bears his name, with a smile. “And with the band Pegasus only in 5 cities, fitting in a show at the Knie was yet another challenge.”

Among the artists on display this year, we find Pierric Tenthorey, champion of “close-up” magic in 2015. The magician mixes stand-up and pantomime through illusionism, writes the Circus Knee.

Also a successful director and author, he performs on stage and in the French show “Le plus grand cabaret du monde”. Also a magician and actor, Dustin Nicoldi aka “Coperlin” is also one of the touring artists.

The double wheel of death of the Navas

Acrobats have the spotlight this year. Friday evening, the South American troupe Navas dazzled the spectators of the premiere at the end of the lake by spinning at high speed on and in their double wheel of death.

The Grygorof duo presents an aerial hoop number. The aerialist performs figures in the air, held by the teeth of her partner. Hugo Noël’s troupe flies while bouncing on a giant curved trampoline. The Chinese acrobats from the Dalian troupe, for their part, present spectacular figures on the ground.

Juggling and dancing

Another artist worth seeing, Victor Moiseev offers a magical and unreal number of horizontal juggling, while dancing. He performed for many years at Cirque du Soleil.

Another form of juggling, freestyle football is making its debut at Knee. The Boyka duo, formed by the Friborg Marc Jonin and the Colombian Sebastian Ortiz Hernandez, is one of the best in this new discipline. Their speed and dexterity with the ball, especially in balancing, are astonishing.

Georgian dance also punctuates the Circus tour Knee This year. A troupe will try to captivate the public with its enthusiasm. Georgian dances have their origins in the Middle Ages. They are currently present in ballet form all over the world.

Radio Lake in immersion

If the show reinforces Freddy Knie in his status as a happy grandfather, it is above all thanks to those who make him turn, on the track, but also behind the scenes. The Knie let me gallop through horses, artists and technicians. Available in podcasts and videos.

The tour continues

In Geneva until September 15, the other French-speaking stages are Nyon on September 21 and 22, Lausanne from September 27 to October 13, Vevey from October 17 to 20, Sion (VS) from October 24 to 27 and Friborg from October 1 to 3. november. The tour is scheduled to end in Lucerne between December 12 and January 3.
