The musician was released after payment of a “reasonable” fine, said military police spokesperson Robert Kapel, referring to a “closed case”.

“After being in a cell for 5 or 6 hours, my plane took 20 minutes to take off after I boarded,” she said in her apology message.

According to the Guardian, the cancellation of the show was only announced at 9:30 p.m., when the rapper was due to arrive on stage. Some 20,000 spectators were seated in the Co-op Live hall in Manchester.

Nicki Minaj also announced that this canceled concert will be postponed: “I will find a way not only to make up this date with my performance but I will also set up a bonus for everyone who had a ticket for this show. I promise.”

The rapper is currently ensuring her Pink Friday 2 World Tour to defend his fifth album, Pink Friday 2, released last year. Launched last March in Oakland, the tour will end in Liège, Belgium, on July 14. The 41-year-old star will pass through France on June 9, with a concert at the Accor Arena in Paris.
