A complainant who didn’t need to introduce himself. Friday May 24, Kad Merad was heard at the Chalon-sur-Saône court in a case of real estate fraud of which he considers himself the victim with his wife Julia Vignali, reports Le Progrès.

The actor and his wife filed a complaint and became a civil party against two companies: a real estate agency located in the town of Montceau-les-Mines (Saône-et-Loire) and an agency specializing in heritage restoration based in Paris. When purchasing a farm located in Mary (Saône-et-Loire), a small village in which he was married at the end of 2022, the native of Sidi Bel Abbès (Algeria) would have suffered loss of 1.5 million euros. He also claims 5,000 euros for moral damage.

The events occurred between September 2022 and the summer of 2023, following the purchase of this second home, in the Saône-et-Loirienne countryside, in the heart of the mining basin.

Due to the absence of defendants and certain doubts about the accuracy of a first name and several addresses, the Chalon court declared itself not seized. The hearing was short, lasting only around fifteen minutes, our colleagues report. To avoid a procedural flaw, the president of the court announced that the hearing would be postponed until January 10, 2025.
