The Strength of Human

Active nonviolence, as a philosophy and practice, seeks to transform conflicts without resorting to violence, promoting dialogue, empathy and mutual understanding.

The II Mediterranean Forum for Peace and Nonviolence, which will be held in Malaga on June 22 and 23, 2024, represents a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations and movements committed to building a fairer and more peaceful society. This event is a continuation of the commitment initiated during the Mediterranean Nuclear Disarmament Forum in 2008 and presents itself as a space for exchanges and proposals focused on the methodology of active Nonviolence.

Active Nonviolence, as a philosophy and practice, seeks to transform conflicts without resorting to violence, promoting dialogue, empathy and mutual understanding. In a world where armed conflict and violence appear to be on the rise, nonviolence offers a powerful and transformative alternative that places at the center the value of human life and respect for the dignity of all people.

The Forum consists of several thematic tables which will address the possibilities for action of Nonviolence on different social issues, from education and culture to politics and the economy. These thematic tables are the result of a process of dialogue and collaboration between different social actors and seek to generate concrete proposals that can be implemented at local, national and international level.

In addition, the Forum supports and supports the 3rd Global March for Peace and Nonviolence, a global initiative that will tour several countries to carry a message of peace and solidarity. The March, which will start from San José in Costa Rica on October 2 and end on January 5, 2025, will pass through Malaga around mid-November this year, creating a direct link between the Forum and this important international mobilization.

The 2nd Mediterranean Forum for Peace and Nonviolence is therefore more than an event, it is a call to action, an invitation to be part of a movement that seeks to transform reality through nonviolence. It is an opportunity for all those interested in promoting peace and nonviolence to come together, share experiences and work together to create a future worth living.

For more information on the Forum and how to participate, please consult the official website of World Without Wars and Violence in Malaga, as well as information platforms and partner organizations.
