Chucky, S3, part 2, is still dripping with hemoglobin and sarcasm!

Last October, the horror comedy Chucky left us with an abysmal abyss at the conclusion of the first part of its third season. Was the demonic doll going to take control of the White House, destroy the planet and, above all, was she really on the verge of death?

Well, no rest for the servants of evil since, from the start of this second part (i.e. episode 5), the corpses pile up more and more with great reinforcement of scenes so bloody that we cannot stop yourself from giggling. The diagnosis of “Catholic cancer” which is eating away at Chucky (excellent Brad Dourif) is also confirmed and he decides to leave in style by triggering a third world war.

This premise happily kicks off the horror ball! Don Mancini, the creator of the films and the series, takes great pleasure in concentrating a host of hilarious lines, spurts of blood and viscera, as well as references to popular culture. A particularly meta scene also presents Chucky on his deathbed, while they take a critical look at productions featuring other demonic dolls and where the vision of M3GAN makes him scream: “That bitch stole my movements. Fuck you, M-three-gun. »

As in previous seasons, Jake (Zackary Arthur), his boyfriend Devon (Björgvin Arnarson) and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind) try to put an end to the doll’s reign of terror, but also seek to locate Lexy’s little sister , which he would have “removed”. The number of adversaries, however, is increased tenfold since the White House is populated by numerous ghosts with murderous intentions.

Jennifer Tilly still brilliantly plays Tiffany Valentine and casually controls, with the help of voodoo dolls, the guards of the prison where she is incarcerated. After two and a half seasons, the series also presents a more carnal vision of the relationship of Jake and Devon who finally consummate their union. The series is well aware of its grotesque and excessive side and what makes it charming is that it does not hesitate to fully embrace it. Horror and humor are therefore always in tune with an inventive scenario, sometimes crazy, but always deliciously outrageous. The last episode will surprise many and leaves us once again facing the unknown: how will our trio escape the clutches of Chucky? Season 3 episodes are available, in English, on Showcase, via Prime Video. The first two seasons are available, in French, on Crave and Super Écran and the new season should probably be available there soon.
