Gaillac. Open days for sculptors and modelers on November 9

It was November 9 that the Gaillac sculptors chose as the date to organize their open day. On this occasion, they wish to offer visitors time to better promote their specificities and their workshop.

The objective is to introduce modeling and sculpture to people in the region interested in creativity and manual hobbies. Free workshop, without teachers, which allows all sizes on wood and stone as well as modeling with clay or plaster. Gaillac sculptors base their personal progress on conviviality, mutual aid and reciprocal advice in a completely voluntary approach. The elders accompany the beginners and pass on to them as they progress the essential bases so that they can discover for themselves the pleasure of creating and producing a complete work. With its long experience, the workshop has tools for different techniques to allow beginners and newbies a first approach without having to make an investment from the start. In order to expand the creative tools, a Raku oven was purchased. Its progressive mastery allows it to enamele pieces of stoneware following the principles of this ancestral Japanese technique. Easily recognizable, the Raku pieces have visible cracks on the enamel after their passage in the oven at 1,000° C. For conviviality, each session is also an opportunity for breaks with tea, coffee and biscuits. Common meals are organized throughout the year as well as guided tours of museums or significant exhibitions.

The Atelier is located opposite the small Gaillac aerodrome ch. Longevelle 81600 Gaillac Bt 2.

The large room benefits from the isolation required to allow the use of tools or noisy strikes without disturbing the neighborhood. The open day will therefore take place without interruption on November 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
