The “Guardians of the Galaxy” star pays tribute to the stuntman, who doubled for him on several of his hit films.

American actor Chris Pratt pays tribute to Tony McFarr, a Hollywood stuntman who served as his stunt double on several blockbusters. This shadow worker died at the age of 47 on May 13, in Florida, where he lived. The causes of his death have not yet been revealed.

“I am devastated to learn of the death of my friend and former understudy Tony McFarr,” wrote the American actor in an Instagram story published on May 17.

“We made several films together. We played golf, drank whiskey, smoked cigars, and spent countless hours on set.”

As Variety reports, Tony McFarr served as Chris Pratt’s understudy for the first time on the set of Jurassic Worldreleased in 2015, then for Passengers unveiled the following year. They found themselves on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) then for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018).

“Always gentleman and professional”

“I will never forget how tough he was,” Chris Pratt continues on Instagram. “I remember he took a bad blow to the head (while filming the opening scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) and that he had several staples. He came right back to work, ready to get back to work.”

“He was always a gentleman and professional. He will be missed. My prayers are with his friends and family, especially his daughter,” he concluded.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Tony McFarr began his career as an actor in 2007 in the series Burn Notice, The Scott brothers Or Graceland. He then headed towards the waterfalls and the lining. In addition to the aforementioned films, he worked on the sets of Captain America: Civil War, The Hunger Games: Rebellion parts 1 and 2or Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
