3 children’s titles to read to thrill

Every week, The Pathfinder selects three works to get in the seasonal mood and prepare for Halloween. Today, three titles aimed at young people are in the spotlight.

1 The Perdido Agency – The last finders: Perdido Agency, Volume 01

New teen and young adult saga with strong potential, Perdido Agency – The last finders (Bayard Jeunesse) is written by Victor Dixen, known mainly for the Books Phobos et A vampire. With The Perdido Agency – The last findersit takes up the myth of the bogeymen and offers a clever mix between the thriller and the fantastic. 2 Tales from Manor Fright – Mummy Molette’s strips

Second volume of children’s albums Tales of Manor Fright, Mummy Molette’s Bandages (Glénat) by Loïc Clément and Julien Arnal tells an independent story, while Mummy Molette is ashamed of her appearance and her bandages. Agreeing to go out with her friends to the Pumpkin Ball as Halloween approaches, she fears the gaze of others before realizing that headbands have become fashionable! Making the front page of magazines, Momie Molette regains her self-confidence, but also notices how ephemeral fashion is.

Using the symbolism of monsters to address acceptance, kindness and friendship, Tales of Fright Manor is an initiatory series for a very young audience with delicate, colorful drawings that stimulate the imagination!

3 The trilogy Haze

October 23, 2024, the third volume of the comic strip Haze released in bookstores by Glénat editions. After the first two albums presenting the universe and the quest of this little witch with great ambitions, Brume’s adventures continue as she tries to find Naïa, the powerful witch who once protected the village.

Accompanied by her friend Hugo and her little pig Hubert, Brume returns to the forest and continues her initiatory journey. Jérôme Pélissier and Carine Hinder complete the first cycle devoted to Brume, and once again draw on tales, legends and the imagination to play with the representation of witches. As touching as funny, Haze is a fantastic tale with gothic inspirations!
